MEP urges may additionally to paste to Brexit pink lines with exceptional point Remainers will HATE
The Ukip MEP hit out at Remainer Labour MEP Richard Corbett after he claimed Prime Minister Theresa May was going for a hard and “job-destroying” Brexit that will put up barriers to Britain’s main export markets.
Nathan Gill ripped into Mr Corbett was and said he was “spouting a bunch of Remainer nonsense” about the existence of a 'Hard-Brexit.'
Mr Gill said his "only goal" as a Ukip politician is to see Britain leave the EU and that would include leaving the customs union and single market.
Speaking to RT UK, Mr Gill said: “There is no hard. There is no hard right. There are no factions. There is either - Theresa May is going to deliver a Brexit or she isn’t. And if we stay in the customs union, she knows that means she is not delivering Brexit.”
Mr Gill said he welcomes the “firm remarks” that have been made by Theresa May and said she must stick to her word.
He said: “We will hold her to that. We don’t want jam tomorrow, we want to know that what she is saying, as Jacob Rees-Mogg said, she is a woman of principle.
“Let’s make sure she is a woman of principle and that when she tells us we are leaving the customs union - we are going to leave the customs union.”
Downing Street said Britain will "categorically" leave the customs union amid growing rumours of a major Cabinet split over the level of closeness Britain will have with the EU after Brexit.
